阿梅丽•诺冬是比利时法语小说家，至今已出版二十一部小说，每本都高居各大文学畅销榜之首。她曾获法兰西学院小说大奖、法国书商奖、阿兰•富尼埃奖、“花神”奖等文学奖，二〇〇八年更以所有作品获让•吉奥诺文学奖。她的不少作品被改编成电影或戏剧，已有三十七个国家翻译出版诺冬的作品。 诺冬的父亲帕特里克•诺冬曾任比利时驻日本大使，所以她出生于日本，六岁时跟随父亲来到北京，后来又到了美国纽约和一些东南亚国家。直到十七岁，她才回到比利时，并进入布鲁塞尔自由大学（ULB）学习拉丁语文学。 据诺冬自己说，她正是从十七岁开始创作小说；而出版首部小说则要等到她二十五岁那年。此后她每年出版一部小说，每本都毫无悬念地引起媒体和读者的巨大反响，成为法国出版界的一个“神话”。诺冬现在生活在巴黎和比利时两地。
